How long does it take to build a custom home?
Typically, a custom home takes about 10-18 months to build from the time permits are approved. The timeline can vary depending on the size, complexity, weather, and how quickly decisions are made. We always plan ahead with clear milestones so you know what to expect every step of the way.
How much will my custom home cost per square foot?
The cost per square foot can vary widely based on design choices, lot conditions, finishes, and architectural details. On average, custom homes can range from $350 to $700 per square foot. We provide detailed, transparent estimates upfront so there are no surprises.
Do you help with the design or do I need to hire an architect separately?
We can handle it either way! Many of our clients work with our trusted design partners to craft a home that matches their vision and budget. If you already have an architect, we’re happy to collaborate closely to bring your plans to life.
What’s included in your site planning process?
Our site planning includes a full evaluation of your lot, placement of the home for views, grading, drainage, utility connections, and any special considerations for your property. We make sure your home sits beautifully on your land while meeting all local codes and requirements.
What areas do you build in?
We primarily build and renovate high-end custom homes from Lantzville to North Qualicum, and surrounding central Vancouver Island communities. If you’re outside this area, feel free to get in touch — we’re always open to see if it’s a good fit.
Do you only build custom homes, or do you do renovations too?
We do both — full custom new builds and major high-end renovations. Many of our clients want to transform an existing property to modern standards while keeping its character — we love these projects just as much.
Will you help me with permits and dealing with the city?
Absolutely. We handle all permitting and coordination with local municipalities so you don’t have to stress over the paperwork. It’s part of what we do to keep your project on track.
Can I make changes during construction?
Yes — it’s your home, and we want it right! Just know that changes during construction can affect the schedule and budget. We keep you informed on how any revisions might impact the project so you can make confident decisions.
